Mon 31st October

 Another mild day today, all sheep accounted for in the southern part of the field. Several of them sitting on the floor lazing in the sun! I did notice the previous evening one of them was coughing but couldn't see which one it was.

Sun 30 Oct

 All 30x accounted for. All seemed contented and biddable and all came straight to the call. No limpers. No concerns.

Sat 29 Oct

 All 30x sheep accounted for and all seem fine. I couldn't spot any of them limping and they all came over to a call.

Despite the mild weather, the number of flies seems to be down - the sheep even seemed to be without their perpetual swarm of mosquitoes today.

No concerns. 

Fri 28th October

 All 30 accounted for and moving around well apart from this one - https://photos.app.goo.gl/QFqSUQaHgTYHUh6Z9 - number 00037. When I approached she did get up and run away without limping but seemed a bit strange she looked drowsy in the middle of the day.

Thursday October 27th

 Today the sheep were in exactly the same place as they had been on Tuesday this week , on the south facing slope of the cut grass area just below the education area . They all came across to see me and it was plain that no one was limping . All looking well and grazing energetically . All 30 animals accounted for 

Pleaee note that I am away for three weeks so cannot cover Tuesday November 1st and Thursday  3rd ,  8th and 10th, plus 15th and 17th . Will resume duties in Barton on 22nd November . If anyone could cover in my stead would be great . Will of course “ trade “ days if so required !

Tuesday October 25th

 Today the sheep were in the cut grass area on the south facing slope concentrated close to the point where the path leading away from the main gates takes a right hand turn and leads up the slope with the educational area on the right . All 30 accounted for . No one limping and all looking fine and grazing well.

 All grazing and moving around well on an unseasonably warm day.

Thursday October 20th

 A beautiful quiet sunny afternoon in Barton meadows. Sheep spread out across the bottom of the short grass area close up to the median fence line . All 30 accounted for . No one limping and all looking very well . Trough ok and water supply working properly .

Tuesday October 18th

 The sheep were in three groups today. One group of seven on the south facing slope of the cut grass area . Another group of seven just above them on the edge of the long grass area . The third group of 16 were close to the northern fence line in the long grass . All animals grazing fine. No one limping . Five roe deer seen

Monday 17th October

 All 30 accounted for on a beautiful warm day, they were situated right at the northernmost point of the field. I couldn't see any limpers, they look to be in very good condition.

It was a very still, calm day so it was easy to get their attention by calling and they all came over to say hello, which is nice and makes checking them easier.

All 30x accounted for no significant limping seen. #21 is possibly a bit greasy and with some straggly fleece in the centre of its back, but no flies were seen and the sheep wasn't agitating the spot.

No concerns.

Thursday October 13th

 All 30 sheep accounted for . All of them grazing in two groups in the long grass area around the highest point in the field . All grazing well and no limps evident . Three roe deer seen at the far southern end of the field .

Tuesday October 11th

 Lovely day again ! Sheep all in the long grass area to the north . In two loose groups around the narrow cut track . Most of them lying down initially and looking very comfortable in the afternoon sunshine . I got them all to their feet  but no one limping . Otherwise no issues . Two roe deer out in the middle of the short grass area also enjoying the sun

Monday 10th October

 All 30 were up and about at lunchtime,  mid-point of the field, happily grazing. Did not see any limpers or any eating on their knees.

Sat 8th and Sun 9th Oct

 All 30x accounted for. They're getting better at coming in to a call. There were two stragglers when called, both of which had slight limps. One was #34.

They looked fine overall. No concerns.

Thursday October 6th

Today the sheep were grazing in the eastern part of the short grass area close to the gates . They all came over to see what I was doing . All 30 accounted for . No one limping . All looking fine .

Wednesday 5th October

 30 counted,all across the the middle of the field.No limpers, all looking well.

Tuesday October 4th

 The sheep in Barton meadow were in a loose group close to the media fence line spread out across the south facing slope . 30 accounted for . All fine and grazing well apart from one who has a slight limp . The near side fore appears to be the problem but it’s not a major issue . Sorry didn’t get the tag number . The trough is ok albeit a bit scummy and the water supply is working fine

Mon 3rd October

Counted all 30 at 6.45am this morning, already up and walking. All of them were in the dip in the middle of the field apart from one who stood on the brow of the hill overlooking the rest like an Impala in the Masai Mara looking out for predators! I didn't see any limpers today and didn't have time to check the trough, will check more closely next time.

Sun 02 Oct

 All 30x sheep accounted for. They were very spread out across the tall grass. All seemed fine, no significant limping, no flies. No concerns.

I scooped a couple of buckets of water from the trough as the top was a bit scummy. It refilled normally.

 All 30x sheep accounted for - none with any significant limps. No concerns.
