All 37x accounted for. All seem fine. They're getting a little more friendly now and are nibbling round my feet as I type this update. No concerns.

Thursday September 28th

The lambs were very skittish this morning . Try as I might I couldn’t get close to them before they rushed off to another part of the field . No idea what caused this behaviour but either way it made counting quite difficult and I couldn’t really get a good look at them to see if anyone had any problems that we ought to be aware of . All 37 accounted for and all seemingly fine but a couple kept lying down and staying away from the main group . No tag numbers as my eyes aren’t that good . They looked ok from a distance but I guess it will pay to keep a close eye on them while this close muggy weather persists . Trough and water supply ok

Tuesday 26th September

My first time checking on the sheep and meadows. Counted 37 sheep, one with dirty behind, but couldn’t see any problems. Water trough full and cut off valve working. Sheep were spilt into 3 groups, but all seemed well. Checked the path around the meadows and no issues noted.

Wednesday 27th September

37 counted, they were spread over the middle of the big field.  Observed one messy behind but not causing any problem. Otherwise all looking good.

Monday September 25th

I counted 35 whereupon the grazing team turned up with another two from the farm . All looking good and grazing happily across the dip in the eastern section.  Trough fine and water supply functioning properly.

Sun 24 Sep

 All 35x sheep accounted for.

One of them - the smallest in the flock, with horns and with a blue/green paint marking on its back - has flies all round its rear end. I couldn't get close to read the ear tag. When walking, it occasionally stops and nibbles at its back. I will call this through to the on-call number.

Thursday September 21at

Back in Barton for the first time for quite a while . The lambs were spread across the dip in the centre of the field . Most of them grazing but a few lying down which makes them hard to see in the long(ish) grass. For them all to their feet and didn’t see anyone limping .they all look pretty good and clearly happy to be in amongst all that plentiful keep . Their trough is fine and water supply functioning properly.  Saw a brace of deer . .

 Hi all,

Lambs all accounted for a looking in good condition.

Gate from Eastern compartment into Western compartment is now closed so lambs should remain in the East.

Thank you all for your time,

Sam

Sun 17 Sep

All 35x accounted for. They seemed fine, if a bit less energetic today in the rain.

They were in two groups in the eastern enclosure, hard to count from a distance as they were in the long vegetation.

35 LAMBS

#95 taken off the meadows and at Hockley Farm receiving treatment, leaving 35x lambs on the meadows

Sat 16 Sep

 All 36x accounted for.

#95 had fly strike, so I penned it in the corral between the gates of the two enclosures and phoned it through to the grazing team. Tom came in the van to sort.

Troughs checked and working fine.
