Mon 8th Nov

Sorry a brief visit due to a trip to London but saw all 50, not enough time to check other issues.

Sun 07 Nov

All 50x accounted for. Nicely spread out when I arrived - all grazing in the sun. Couldn't identify which was limping today, but there were a few messy back ends, so if the grazing team are giving them the once over this coming week that will be good.

The one recovering from fly strike with less fleece was lying down again. It seemed a little stiff when it walks, but joined the rest of the flock when I called.

The warmer weather today seems to have woken up the rams, so there was a scrum of them tussling and butting each other. This might give rise to some of the lameness and stiffness we see too.

No concerns.

Sat 06 Nov

All 50x eventually counted today. Most seemed fine. The hornless limper with a messy back end was out on its own, but rejoined the flock - grazing team aware. The one recovering from fly strike (fleece lost from back) took a long time to get up, but then seemed ok. I'll take a closer look at it again tomorrow. No concerns.

Friday 5th November

All 50 counted on what was a very cold start to the day (-1C). Needed to break the ice in the trough, only one limper spotted but as normal couldn't get close. Doesn't trust me yet.

Thursday, November 4th

All 50 sheep accounted for . Two animals limping one with horns has a sore near side fore . The other is without horns and is one of the smallest lambs in the paddock has a problem with its offside fore. The latter animal’s problem is less marked than the other where the lamb prefers to lie down as much as possible . Otherwise fine apart from a few mucky rear ends . They are all grazing ok and moving well with the obvious exception of the two limpers . Their trough is full and the water supply is functioning ok

Monday Nov 1st

All 50 counted, not limping seen today. They were all sheltering from the sun on the west side of the field hugging the fence. Some of them have taken a liking to the bramble bush along the fence. Amazing that it's not boggy in the field considering the amount of rain we've had, obviously drains very well.
