Tuesday April 11th

The cows has two visits today one from Sam of the trust staff who had been called out in response to a report of some blood on one of the animals and one from myself. By the time I got there there were no sanguinary traces probably because the unceasing downpour has washed them off if they actually existed . As far as I could see all the cows were fine albeit looking more than a little damp . They were all clustered in the corner by the main gates staring rather gloomily at the passing traffic . Otherwise no issues

Thursday April 6th

The 12 cattle were grazing briskly across the south facing slope of the large field , just below the long grass area . All looking very well and full of energy . While I was theee it started to rain hard whixh then turned to hail. This prompted all the animals to start walking very purposefully down towards the gates . When the hail redoubled in intensity their walking pace turned into a headlong charge down the slope . Not quite sure what this was all about but they certainly seemed to enjoy themselves ! No deer seen . Doubtless they had anticipated the heavy rain showers and sensibly taken shelter somewhere.

Happy Easter and have a good weekend
