Green shoots showing through on mown southern half of eastern meadow. Elsewhere very brown!

Snipped back some stray brambles on the path round. Very quiet only small amou ts of littter by the benches

Tuesday 11th August

All good. Great job done by the work party. Clipped back some stray brambles and nettles from the path on the walk round. Not much litter aoart from the bench near the southern entrance. Spotted 3 jersey tiger moths at the northern end.

Tuesday 28th July All good

 On a visit today. Gates all secure. Very quiet. Picked up some litter by the benches. Both fields are a sea of wild carrot flowers with a gathering of meadow brown butterflies.

The brambles are beginning to encroach in places on the path alongside the railway line - will take some secateurs next month.

Cows off site

Hi all,

Its come to that part of the year when the cows have moved to winnall moors and barton meadows is being left to flourish.

We have lambed this year so its likely we will bring the lambs to ween in Sept/Oct, but I'll be in contact closer to the time.

Wednesday 13th May

 All 6 cows laying down in the sunshine close to the near fence, looking very contented.

Saw one sainfoin flowering!

Tuesday 12th May

 6 cows quietly grazing on middle of western meadow and 3 roe deer in eastern meadow. 

First sighting of dog roses in flower near western entrance gate. Scattering of oxe eye daisies in flower in both meadows. Several butterflies on the wing especially brimstones. Nice to see a couple of goldfinches in the bushes below the railway line.

Sadly yet again had to retrieve a filled dog bag from the cows field.

Sunday 10/5/26

 All 6 up on their feet chomping away.Sharing the small meadow with 3 roe deer. Trough full. Little brown cow is growing up. Hardly any birdsong but it is windy this afternoon
