The scabious is coming out in the set aside areas and there are a few pyramidal orchids as well - some of the biggest I've ever seen! It all looks wonderful :)
This is a blog for Barton Meadows. The purpose of this blog is for staff and lookers to post a record of their livestock checks. The blog acts as a formal record of livestock wellbeing and welfare checks by providing access to up-to-date information on livestock and site status, and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust

Tuesday 23rd June
I went out to top the paths again today. The meadows are looking great, the ox-eye daisies are going over now but that allows you to see the other flowers underneath which were being hidden! Lots of butterflies out on the wing, a few small torts and lots of marbled whites and meadow browns.
