A neighbour knocked on the door this morning to say that a dog was in with the sheep. He described it as a working dog, which had rounded the sheep into a corner of the field and was standing back but not chasing them.
I went straight out, but couldn't see a dog - although the sheep were grouped in the northern corner as he'd described to me.
I called them all over to me. There were no injuries. Only the one with patchy fleece looked stiff, as previous blogs have recorded.
I spent some time with them and they were all calm. All 50x accounted for. No concerns.
Sounds like that dog and owner could come in handy if they confine their activity to requested round ups!
